“Home of the Brave” is a documentary showcasing the life of Viola Liuzzo (Julie Stevens), a civil rights activist who campaigned for black suffrage in Selma, Alabama. Members of the Klu-Klux-Klan murdered her in 1965. Their trial was one that rocked the South and set in motion events that would lead to better rights for the African American community. The film’s Narrator (Stockard Channing) takes us down the path of Liuzzo’s life and how the murder of the activist had an effect on the culture, the movement itself as per the events that followed her death and of course her family detailing how they took her death in the end.
