Will Francis (Jude Law) is an english architect who, together with his girlfriend Liv (Robin Wright Penn) and her daughter lives a normal life in an apartment in London. After his office starts to be repeatedly burgled and opened he decides to watch the office during the night and find out who the burglar is. During his watch, he notices the burglar who in fact is a teenage culprit (Rafi Gavron). Will decides to follow him. During the pursuit, he encounters mysterious Amira (Juliette Binoche), and starts to have feelings towards her. This completely changes his way of life. The main story begins after the police finds out who these burglars are, and when Will must decide on which side he will stand.
