A middle aged, married man, Richard Cooper (Chris Rock), feels that he does not have enough love in his relationship. He one day bumps into his old friend, Nikki Tru (Kerry Washington), and they decide to go out for lunch. She's much younger and sexier than Richard's wife, Brenda (Gina Torres), and he slowly falls for her. He begins to spend a lot more time with her, and Brenda begins to get suspicious. Richard tries to stay away from her, but she keeps on coming back. One night, when Richard and Nikki head back to her apartment and are about to make love, Richard realizes that what he is doing is really wrong and could ruin his marriage. He goes back home and stays with his wife, and realizes how lucky he really is.
