In this sequel to "The Hills Have Eyes", a group of National Guardsmen are sent to discover what has become of scientists who were investigating a mining area. Upon arriving there, they become trapped when their transports are destroyed, and they discover one of the scientists who is dying. The Guardsmen are then attacked by vicious mutants living in the area who were responsible of the deaths of the scientists, resulting in the deaths of many of the Guardsmen. Finally, one of the Guardsmen, Missy, (Daniella Alonso) is captured by the mutants, forcing the rest of the Guardsmen to go into mines where the mutants live in order to attempt a rescue.
